International Men’s Day

International Men’s Day

This International Men’s Day we are celebrating the life of one of the most inspirational and beloved figures across the UK, Sir David Attenborough!

Five facts you may not (or may!) know:

🌍  As controller of BBC Two he oversaw the first ever colour broadcasts in Europe.

🌍  In the 1950s he caught the elusive Komodo Dragon on film for the very first time!

🌍  He broke the record for the deepest ever dive on the Great Barrier Reef in 2015 diving 1000ft in a submersible off the Australian Coast.

🌍  He is the only person to have won BAFTAs for programme making in black & white, colour, HD and 3D.

🌍  The only animal he admits to disliking are rats!

From his beginnings as a trainee at the BBC in 1952 to the modern day with the release of yet another landmark TV series, A Life On Our Planet, David Attenborough has been shaping the way we see and interact with our planet for a very long time and will continue to do so for generations to come.

Here at The Drifting Bear we have always been inspired by Sir David Attenborough and feel that we are helping to promote his climate emergency message with our commitment to plant a tree for every order we receive.  Alongside this commitment we have also created two special designs to help promote our tree planting initiative, please check out our 'This Cup Of Tea Planted One Tree' Ceramic Mug and our 'A Tree for your Tree' Personalised Tree planting Decoration:
